About the Event
In the late 19th century, a family from Lithuania arrived in Pennsylvania. Surprisingly a branch wound up in Bisbee, Arizona. We're going to look at family structure and the reasons behind the relocation across the U.S. Among the things we're going to explore will be what happened to the family after their arrival in Arizona, and reconciling family stories with documentation.
Dr. Janette Silverman is a professional genealogist, who heads a team of specialists in Eastern European and Jewish genealogy at AncestryProGenealogists® the division of Ancestry.com that does private client research. She began genealogy research 40 years ago with her dad. Their casual hobby quickly became an obsession, and later was the basis of her doctoral dissertation. Her research often involves in-person travel to archives in Europe and Israel. She recently returned from a research trip to Poland and Lithuania.
