What types of programs does the Society offer?
All of our programs are presented virtually, with select programs offered in a hybrid format. Our programming primarily focuses on Jewish genealogy and Pittsburgh-area research, while also offering broader genealogy topics such as research methods, emerging technologies, and photo preservation.

Members also have access to exclusive Help Sessions designed for interactive research discussion and guidance.

How do I register for a program?
Registration is completed through our website.
Programs are free for members. For non-members, there is typically a $5 registration fee.
Upcoming programs are announced on our website, through email announcements, and on social media.

Are programs recorded?
Many of our programs are recorded. Members may access recordings through the Membership section of the website after logging in.

Can I attend if I live outside Pittsburgh?
Yes. Because our programs are virtual, participants can join from anywhere.

Do I need to be a member to attend programs?
All regular programs are open to the public.
Membership provides additional benefits, including access to Help Sessions and recorded programming.

What if I can’t attend live?
If a program is recorded, members may view the recording afterward through the website. Membership ensures ongoing access to our archived programs.

How are speakers selected?
Speakers are selected based on their expertise in genealogy and related research topics. We also occasionally welcome proposals from members and community experts.
